The Duchess of Cambridge shocked customers when she was reportedly seen at a self-service counter at a store in Norfolk, according to the The Sun, although the Mirror reports it was in Cambridgeshire. Carlotte and George are currently on their fall break from studies, and based on the location where they were spotted, they are likely spending the time off at Anmer Hall, the Cambridge family home in Norfolk.
“Another shopper said that Kate was in the shop near the clothing and pointed where she was to me. I just couldn’t believe it,” Kathy Whittaker told the Mirror. “She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures.”
Kathy said she did manage to get a photo of the mother of three, who reportedly asked some children what they were going to be for Halloween. She said George and Charlotte stuck by her as they browsed through the racks.
“I didn’t see what she actually bought,” the 53-year-old continued. “I think she bought some Halloween bits for her kids, but I don’t know what.”
“It was so lovely to see her doing normal stuff that you do and I do,” Kathy continued. “You don’t expect to see that when you go shopping. I couldn’t concentrate on my shopping… She just seemed to so down to earth and beautiful as always.”
This isn’t the first time Duchess Kate and her kids have surprised shoppers by stepping out to a store! Last December, she was seen with George and Charlotte as she did some last-minute Christmas shopping at a discount store, and reportedly picked up photos, children’s books and artist materials. In April 2018, the duchess – then nine months pregnant with Prince Louis – was seen loading a Range Rover outside a Waitrose in Norfolk.
Kate and Prince William have just returned from a whirlwind five-day tour of Pakistan that saw them travel from Islamabad to the north to Lahore and back again. They returned home last Friday, just in time to put their kids to bed!
